Privacy Policy
Effective: October 5, 2026
PlayPang (playpang.com, the "Service") works without sign-up and does not require your real name, email or phone number. Your optional public profile and the following data may be stored.
Friends, follows and reviews
We store friend requests and acceptances, follows, blocks, and people who completed party games together. Levels and record counts appear on profiles. Detailed game history is limited to you and accepted friends unless you opt to share it with non-friends. Blocking restricts profile and review-list access in both directions.
Ratings and optional reviews are published with your nickname and profile. Report reasons are used for moderation. Deleting a review clears its text and removes it from public averages; per-game moderation state remains to prevent bypass. Leaving in My profile removes these relationships, reviews and reports.
PANG, referrals and operation records
We process point balances and transactions, items, game session timing and activity signals, ad event reports (separate from server verification), referral codes, arrivals and game-start conversions. These support features and abuse prevention. Visitors are browser-based estimates; the new analytics do not store raw IP addresses, user agents or precise location.
Normalized page paths (without query strings) and daily counts are retained for 30 days, ad events for 90 days, with cleanup on subsequent activity. Daily aggregate snapshots contain no individual identifiers. PANG abuse controls use date-scoped keyed IP digests and limits.
To improve the service and plan advertising, each page view is recorded with the anonymous identifier, the visitor country (the country code provided by Cloudflare), browser language and chosen site language, device type (mobile, desktop or tablet), operating system and its major version, browser family, phone manufacturer (the model name is not stored), a screen-width range, the first traffic source (a category such as direct, search or social, the referring domain, and utm values on ad links) and time spent while the page is visible. Raw IP addresses, full user-agent strings, full referring URLs and search terms are not stored, and these records are deleted after 90 days.
Only if you tap “Remind me tomorrow”, we store your browser’s push subscription (the notification service address and encryption keys), site language and time zone to send at most one check-in reminder a day. You can turn it off on the check-in page or in your browser settings at any time; turning it off or leaving deletes the subscription.
Payments and ad-based PANG recharges are not connected; no card data is collected. Leaving removes free-point records; retired identifiers and security limits may remain to prevent old-device access. Provider, retention, refund and account-recovery policies must be disclosed before paid launch.
Connecting to external game servers (Aethelgard)
When you press “Connect” on a game that runs on its own server, such as Aethelgard, we create a signed token that is valid for only about two minutes and pass it to that game server so you can start right away. The token contains only a random pseudonymous ID created separately for each game, your nickname, level, chosen character, profile image address (if you uploaded one) and site language. It never contains your PlayPang anonymous identifier (pp_uid), country, IP address, user agent or PANG balance.
The pseudonymous ID and its creation time are stored on PlayPang servers so that you return to the same game account next time. Leaving deletes this link, after which your existing characters on the game server are no longer connected to you. When moving devices, if both devices were connected to the same game, only the link of the device you move to is kept.
Information received by the game server and in-game records (characters, progress, chat and so on) are processed by that game server to provide the game. When the game page checks the server status, your browser contacts the game server directly without sending cookies.
1. What we process
- Anonymous identifier: a random value (cookie pp_uid) that lets us recognize this browser. It is not linked to your name or contact details.
- Nickname (optional): the name you type when submitting a score or joining a party game.
- Public profile: country initialized from your connection or chosen by you, optional profile image, and level calculated from game records. These appear on rankings, without precise location. Images are resized to 256×256 and metadata, including location, is removed before storage.
- Game records: scores, play counts, party game results and their timestamps.
- A one-way hash of your IP address, used only to prevent spam and cheating. It cannot be turned back into your IP address.
- Browser storage (localStorage) and cookies: language (pp_lang), sound settings, your best scores on this device and similar preferences.
2. Why
- To provide features such as leaderboards, your records and party games
- To prevent abuse (score manipulation, spam)
- To keep basic usage statistics (e.g. plays per game)
3. Retention and deletion
Use "My page → Leave" to erase your nickname, country, image and game records. Restoring the default image deletes the uploaded image separately. Deleted data cannot be restored; previously delivered images may remain in browser caches for up to five minutes.
Nicknames are released for others after 90 days without a visit. Party rooms live only in server memory and disappear when they end.
4. Advertising and cookies (Google AdSense)
The Service shows ads through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
How Google uses cookies in advertising: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings: https://adssettings.google.com
Opt out of other vendors’ personalized ads: https://www.aboutads.info/choices
5. Sharing
We do not sell or share this data with third parties. The Service is delivered through the Cloudflare network, and ads are served by Google.
The only exception: when you press “Connect” on an external game yourself, the items listed under “Connecting to external game servers” are passed to that game server.
6. Children
Profiles are public. Please use a nickname and a game image instead of real names, contact details or face photos.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the update here with a new effective date.
